Driver stopped by "tachograph switch"

A Lithuanian lorry driver was forced by a Lubuskie Road Transport Inspection patrol to visit a tachograph verification service centre. The tachograph in the vehicle was there to record the driver's rest during his journey.

The truck was detained on the national road "two" in Świecko on Tuesday (12th March). To check the installation of the tachograph, the inspectors used specialized equipment to detect any prohibited interference with the tachograph.

The result of this measurement clearly showed that a prohibited device was connected to the tachograph. The driver was sent to an authorised tachograph service centre, where a so-called “tachograph switch” was found and removed.

Administrative proceedings are underway against the firm which is liable to have to pay a fine of 11 000 złoty.
