The National Road Fund revenues are higher than last year
PLN 1 billion 162 million has been transferred to the bank account of the National Road Fund since the beginning of 2019. After the take-over of the system by the General Inspectorate of Road Transport, no difficulties or malfunctions have been reported with regard to its operation. Compared to the first seven months of 2018 when the system was operated by a commercial entity, the Fund's revenues have also increased.
More than 3 billion kilometres travelled
The number of kilometres travelled is also growing. This year, drivers have already driven 3 billion 829 million km on toll road sections, which is over 141 million kilometres more than last year. 53% of these kilometres were driven on toll highways, 34% on toll expressways and 13% on toll national roads. The number of transactions has also reached over 600 million. Their number increased by over 31 million.
ViaTOLL is also associated with environmental protection. More and more vehicles driving on toll roads are the highest Euro-class vehicles. Lower electronic toll rates are profitable for carriers investing in a modern fleet.
All drivers benefit from the proceeds from the toll collection. Higher Fund revenues result in more funds invested in the construction of new road infrastructure.
