Read moreThe technical condition of 125 vehicles was checked by ITD inspectors on the Łódź section of the A2 motorway near Stryków. The checks were carried out at several control points. The effect of the one-day action of intensified truck inspections was that several truck registration certificates were seized and penalty tickets issued. The action under the code name "Safe motorways" was carried out on Wednesday (10th April) from the early morning at the toll gates in Stryków and at several exits from the A2 motorway. Trucks and buses going in the direction of Warsaw and Poznań were checked. In total, the inspectors checked the technical condition of 125 vehicles and performed 45 smoke opacity tests with a specialist device. Two vehicle registration certificates were seized owing to defects found in their technical condition. In addition, 2 penalty fines were imposed on drivers and 3 administrative proceedings were initiated against firms who are liable to face fines. In the morning, a drunken Lithuanian truck driver, who had 0.6 per mille of alcohol in his breath, was also detained. The driver was detained by police patrol for further action.
